DIY chocolate treat

  • 1/3
    cup
    good quality cocoa
  • 1/3
    cup
    coconut oil
  • 4
    Tbs
    Xylitol
  • pinch
    salt
 

Method

 

Line a 20 – 25 cm deep-ish dish with baking paper.

Combine coconut oil, cocoa, xylitol and salt in a deep glass mixing bowl. Place over a double boiler and allow the mixture to melt and the xylitol to dissolve, while stirring. Don’t let the mixture boil!

Next, pour into the prepared baking dish. Allow the mixture to cool slightly before placing in the freezer for 2 – 3 hours to set.

Remove and break up into pieces to enjoy.

Note: coconut oil melts very easily (even just from the temperature of your fingers!) so keep the chocolate pieces in the freezer until needed.
