Beef and mushroom burger

    lean beef mince
  • 500
    finely chopped brown mushrooms
  • 45
    fresh breadcrumbs
  • 15
    Worcestershire sauce
  • 2
    dried thyme
  • 4
    ciabatta rolls
  • fruit chutney and mayonnaise
  • lettuce or rocket
  • relish, cheese, tomato or other toppings of your choice (optional)
  • potato wedges or chips, to serve
Servings: Change Serving


Mix the mince, mushrooms, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce and thyme together and season to taste. Shape into patties and place on a baking tray that has been lined with baking paper or aluminium foil.

Cook under a grill for 5 to 6 minutes per side.

Cut the rolls in half and grill the insides lightly, if you prefer. Spread with mayonnaise and chutney. Add the rocket or lettuce, top with the patty and add any other extra toppings of your choice. Serve with potato wedges or chips on the side.
