    ml
    wholewheat flour
  • 10
    ml
    baking powder
  • 1
    ml
    salt
  • 125
    ml
    grated cheddar cheese
  • 125
    ml
    oil
  • 125
    ml
    milk
  • 3
    extra large eggs
 

Method

Mix the wholewheat flour, baking powder, salt and cheese together.

Beat the oil, milk and eggs together and add to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth and leave for a few minutes.

Heat a heavy-based frying pan and brush lightly with oil. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the heated pan and heat until tiny air bubbles form on the surface.

Turn and heat on the other side.

Serve hot with butter and syrup or keep it savoury by leaving out the syrup.
