Pita with steak and salad

An easy end-of-week meal. No cutlery needed!

Ingredients

 
  • 20
    ml
    sunflower oil
  • 1
    onion
  • 400
    g
    minute steaks
  • 2
    fresh chillies
  • shredded lettuce
  • cucumber
  • 2
    tomatoes
  • 4
    pita breads
  • tsatziki
Servings: Change Serving
 
 

Method

 
Heat oil in a heavy-based frying pan.  Sauté onion until soft.

Add meat and chilli and fry over a high heat for one minute.

Spoon into pita breads and add salad ingredients.

Serve immediately with tsatziki.

Carving meat
Always allow your roast to rest for 5 to 15 minutes before carving so that the juices can be reabsorbed and the meat presents an even surface when sliced. Use a short- or long-bladed knife, and a two-pronged carving fork with a guard. To prevent the meat from losing juice, steady it with the flat of the fork, rather than piercing.
