Oriental-style fillet

    g
    beef fillet
  • 100
    ml
    olive oil
  • 65
    ml
    soy sauce
  • 4
    garlic cloves, crushed
  • 5
    ml
    chilli paste
  • 5
    ml
    minced ginger
  • 15
    ml
    honey
  • 2
    ml
    salt (or more to taste)
 

Method

 
Wipe fillet with a damp cloth and place in a roasting pan. Mix remaining ingredients together and pour over fillet. Allow to stand for about 15 minutes. Roast at 200 ºC for 15 to 20 minutes (rare), or 25 minutes (medium rare). Remove from oven and allow to rest for about 10 minutes before carving. Serve with baby onions and potatoes roasted in olive oil, salt and fresh coriander.
