Basil crusted beef marrow bones

Ingredients (6)

12 marrow bones — beef
3 Tbs butter — salted
175 ml breadcrumbs
2 Tbs pesto — basil
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1 tsp salt

Method:

Mix the butter, breadcrumbs, basil pesto, salt and pepper together till it forms a smooth paste.

Place 1 tablespoon of the pesto butter mix on the top of each marrow bone and place on an old baking tray.

Cook the bones on the hot smoky coals of the braai or in the oven at 200c’ till the crumbs have become golden and the butter has melted this Should take no longer than 30 minutes.

Squeeze fresh lemon juice over them before serving
