Double cheese and onion braai toasties

Ingredients

  • 1
    sourdough bread
  • 1
    red onion
  • 8
    spring onions
  • 250
    ml
    grated mozzarella cheese
  • 2
    crumbled rounds of feta cheese.
 

Method

Cut a loaf of sourdough bread (or bread of your choice) into thick slices.

Thinly slice 1 red onion and arrange on half the slices.

Cut 8 spring onions into strips and  arrange on top of the  onion slices. Mix 250 ml (1 c) grated mozzarella cheese and 2 crumbled rounds of feta cheese. 

Pile the cheese mixture on the onion layer and top with the remaining bread to make sandwiches.

Braai in a folding grid over moderate coals until golden and the cheese has melted.
