Fish wrapped in crispy bacon
Preparation time: 30 minutes
Cooking time: 10 to 15 minutes
Ingredients
8
firm fish steaks
8
slices of rindless or streaky bacon
300 g
baby spinach
30 ml
butter
2
garlic cloves, crushed
3 ml
nutmeg
30 ml
lemon juice
Method:
Season the fish with salt and black pepper on both sides.
Wrap a piece of bacon around each piece of fish and secure with a toothpick.
Place the fish onto a baking tray and cook under a hot grill for about five minutes on each side until the bacon is crisp and the fish is cooked through.
Steam the spinach until the leaves are wilted and soft.
Heat the butter in a saucepan and add the garlic.
Sauté for one minute, then add the spinach, nutmeg and lemon juice and stir until heated through.
Serve the fish on a bed of spinach, with a baked potato.
