Right South Africans, it’s Heritage Day this Saturday and it’s going to be the biggest National Braai Day ever.

There’s something so special about a braai isn’t there? It’s that smell. The smoky, earthy smell of a good time with friends and family.

Much huddling around the embers, discussing the absolute right time to tan the meat and many a clutched ice-cold beer.

I have such wonderful memories emblazoned at the side of my weber and I have to say I am a wood girl all the way. Burnt boerie for all you gas braai-ers out there! Hey, I’m not saying I’m right – what do you think?

We’ve got some seriaas braai recipes for all of you who are going to go big this weekend. We’ve got everything from awesome marinades to fantastic lamb chops. There’s some mouth-watering braai snacks to wrap your chompers around whilst you ponder the flames and loads of creamy potato bakes to choose from.

There's peri-peri recipes if you like things spicy, delicious braai sides and don't forget the salad! There's something for everyone here, including some awesome mushroom recipes if you're a veggie.

And what is it that makes Braai Day so perfect this year? The Rugby World Cup is in it's prime and the Kiwis are playing France at 10h30.
