Are you an aspiring online journo who loves food? We are looking for a Cape Town based intern to join the Food24 team. If you believe you have what it takes to work with, and look at drool-worthy images of food all day long, then we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:
• Working in a small, fast-moving editorial team to produce clever, useful online food content (sometimes on the fly, sometimes days or weeks ahead)
• Loading and editing recipes and food/drink/restaurant articles into the content management system
• Sourcing and resizing images (experience in Photoshop is a huge advantage!)
• Conceiving and writing short original articles: recipe roundups and features about the goings-on in the greater food/drink/restaurant community
• Aggregate short, sharp food news stories and current event articles under pressure
• Producing and editing repackaged content for clients
• Keeping up-to-date, and engaging with the SA food community on social media
• Supporting editorial staff
Requirements:
• Writing experience (published pieces and/or personal blog)
• Experience with content management systems a major plus (any blogging counts!)
• Familiar with the Food24 editorial voice and aesthetic
• Able to write engaging and catchy blurbs for recipes
• Loves food, appreciates the importance of home cooking and cooking with the seasons
• Loves eating out and finding new and exciting places to dine
• Wine and spirit tasting is a big part of the job at Food24 so be prepared to have a drink or two on occasion
• Meticulous editor, perfectionist, obsessive attention to detail, maddened by typos and broken links, delighted by finding and fixing them
• Excellent communication skills with a can-do attitude
• A+ multi-tasker and juggler of responsibilities big and small
• Interested in and engaged with social media – Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Youtube and Pinterest
• Loves problem-solving and collaborating in an effort to drive Food24 forward
• Cooking experience a plus
• Own transport is an advantage
• Able to work Monday to Fri, 8.30am – 5pm
