Steers to open in London in July, but not everyone is that excited.
Great news for South Africans living in London. Your favourite Steers cravings will now be availlable on your doorstep.
Yes, Steers will be making many an expat very happy when parent company Famous Brands opens a store Clapham, London this July.
Says CEO Kevin Hedderwick "We’ve always said we wanted to export Steers at some point. There are a lot of expats living in the UK … especially in the Clapham environment".
The group already operates in the UK through Wimpy.
Whilst the news has been greeted with much enthusiasm - not everyone is that excited about the arrival with some people tweeting that Steers has gone downhill in the past few years.
Some negative comments according to theshouthafrican.com include UK-based chef Linda Galloway describing Steers as “a (very) poor man’s
Spur, and that’s not saying much” and fellow chef, South African, Grant Hawthorne
tweeting “They're crap. Don’t rate them at all!"
What do you think? Will Steers do well in the UK?
