Galliova Food and Health Writers’ Awards 2012

The 23rd Galliova Food and Health Writers’ Awards, Sponsored by the Egg Industry of South Africa, was held at the Pierneef á La Motte, Wine Estate restaurant, on Friday the 19th October 2012.

Food and Health writers were honoured for excellence in food and health journalism. The entrants had to submit between 8 -12 articles, which appeared over a 12 month period (Jul ’11 – Jun ’12), for judging. These were judged by Letitia Prinsloo, Nataniël, Dorah Sitole, Reuben Riffel, Madeleine de Villiers and Marthinette Stretch.

The winners in the Galliova Student Food Writer’s category were Clemont Pedro (Cape Town Hotel School), Mapula Lamola (Cape Town Hotel School), Neo Ramathe (Institute of Culinary Arts), Pitsi Mohoto (Institute of Culinary Arts) and Loretta van Wyk (Stellemploy Training Centre).
