Cloves
Dried flower buds of a tropical tree; pungent, sweet flavour. Cloves can be found whole or in ground form.

Use: Whole ones are used in marinades, stocks, sauces, braised meats, ham, pickling; Ground cinnamon is usually used in cakes, breads, pastries, fruit dishes and also stews.
