Walnuts
These popular nuts have a very mild yet distinctive taste.

Use: With countless uses, walnuts are used in sweet and savoury cooking, stuffings and are good pickled and served with cheese, specifically with blue vein cheese. They can also be used finely chopped with sweet dishes or roughly chopped with salads and stir fries. They are fabulous in a a Waldorf salad with lettuce, walnuts, celery, apple and mayonnaise. And are often combined with meat and chicken dishes and used in stuffings and sauces. They add extra flavour to biscuits and desserts. In Greece yoghurt is served with a dollop of honey and topped with walnuts. Dishes and desserts with dates, raisins or dried fruit are particularly complimented with walnuts.
