Our waiters are trained to provide professional and friendly service at all times. Perhaps if you provide us with more details we could look into this further. Just a couple of points to correct: Our duck is R125, not R135 as you stated. Our ducks weigh-in at 2kgs and we serve half a duck per order, which we feel is a generous portion. Good atmosphere and excellent starters but expensive and arrogant waiters. Its seems that as soon as the restaurant reaches the top it goes to everyone's head. Stay away from the R135 duck which is less fulling than the escargot starter.

Far and away my favourite restaurant in Durban and, perhaps, anywhere. I have eaten there many, many times over the past few years. The food is invariably outstanding in every respect: presentation, flavour, size of portions and and inventiveness. The desserts are superb, as are the appetizers, soups and salads. The service is generally excellent. Notable too - and I speak as a regular patron - is the sheer consistency and reliability. I have never had a disappointing dish, much less a disappointing meal, at Ninth Avenue Bistro. This is, frankly, a world-class establishment. Carly and staff can be proud of their achievement.

We took two very important friends out to dinner as a thank you for their hospitality and we had a great time! The food was fantastic especially the prawn cocktail appetizer - I was dreaming about it the next day.
The decor isn't the greatest but its not terrible and the food and good service certainly made up for it. Perhaps a bit more lighting would add to the visual appeal of the food.
