Balducci's Cafe, Restaurant &Royal Sushi Bar's Reviews

Never better,than this!

Having Sushi at Balducci's is not a meal, it is an event. The setting in the Sushi room is exquisite. The service is attentive, bordering on intuitive. The Sushi is truly spectacular. The fish is fresh, the rice is perfectly cooked, the seaweed is not tough to bite and the portions are generous. Highly recommended!

by far the most delicious sushi in cape town. moist rice, fresh fish, not shy with portions and generous with the ginger ! ultimate taste sensation!

Service was awful awful awful. As for the food, well, it is the V&A and as expected, small portions and crazy prices. Sushi is below average with above average prices. A real tourist trap that leaves a sour taste in your mouth. Not recommended at all.

The main restaurant. As with most restaurants in Cape Town, having staff that are models by day and waiters by night, leads to nothing but drama. All the money and posh decor in the world cannot fix a once great place. The kitchen is still amazing, but the lack of knowledge and bubbles of arrogance from the staff makes this place a no service establishment like most places in Cape Town.

Balducci's in the Waterfront, Cape Town is one of my favourite restaurants, the atmosphere is relaxed, the food is of excellent quality (although a bit pricey) but I especially love their berry tart & ice cream and the service is of a high standard.

Balducci's is the first restaurant that I fell in love with in CPT. Service and food complented each other to create a really fine dining experience. 2 incidents which were 3 weeks apart, have forced me to rethink my blind loyalty to this place. 1st, I took friends of mine from Jhb, and when we asked for a nice red, we were offered by our waitress ,a R700 bottle wine. That left a bitter taste in the mouth for had we not looked at the menu properly, we would have been hugely surprised by the bill. The 2nd incidenct happened on a Tues, we went for a quick bite and I ordered Seafood pasta. Result -Seafood platter. Cost R340. I paid for nothing because as much as the food was really nice, my tastebuds were turned off by that time.

Utterly 'beautificious', and they take care of the clientele. The salmon and rosti starter could not have been better. Overpriced it may be, but I would pay thrice more just to munch on that divine morsel!

Although it is not always great sitting in the middle of a shopping centre, the sushi is the best I ever had.
