Col'Cacchio Pizzeria (Tygervalley)
Absolutely fantastic... food is excellent, service is awesome and fast, staff is fun and friendly, and really make you feel at home. It was my 2nd visit to Col'Cacchio, but my first to Willowbridge . The first time in Franschhoek was just as pleasant an experience. And it is an added bonus that they cater for special dietary requirements!! You can taste the superb quality ingredients in the food. For me, I would not go for pizza anywhere else again... I will stick with the best!! And our waiter, Alex, was a superstar!!! Thank you for a great experience!!

OH MY GOD!!!! have you eaten at dw eleven-13? the food is mind blowing. The service is brilliant and the style of food is simple but so different. the chef has taken time and effort on creating something amazing. i don't think there is anything like it in joburg. its the sort of place joburg as been waiting for.

Azure Restaurant
Was looking for a place to treat the wife. Based on Sue's experience I immediately scratched Azure off my list of possible's. Reason being I have no intention of being mugged, which she clearly was. I'm sure my not going will have little impact on their trade but darn it makes me feel better for Sue.

Yo Eastern Fusion Restaurant
Never a bad meal - Eastern Fusion is our firm favourite. The staff are very friendly, do not hang around unnecessarily - we've been going there for over 2yrs, and will continue to go. Best sushi in town!

Beluga
Simply the best place to eat - not only for their fantastic sushi specials, but the rest of the menu is just as good. Will go there summer winter, rain or shine. Absolute favourite!

The Italian Kitchen
Heard good reports about this new restaurant in Tokai, so booked a table of 12 to celebrate my Birthday. What an amazing experience it turned out to be, the service was excellent and food absolutely divine! It is so rare these days to find a little gem like this one, which is filled with so much character and warmth. Our first visit was in Oct '08 and we have been back for dinner and lunch more times than I can count. I would definitely recommend the Pork Neck, Lasagne, Grilled Beef Fillet, Mushroom & Fillet Tagliatelle (Yummy!) and their square pizza's are really great.

Outer Limits
My man & I felt like a night out, close to home & couldn't decide where to go in the cold weather. Outer Limits came to mind & what a fabulous evening. We started with dinner, the food was scrumptious & our waittress, Naughty had a fine sense of humour. We enjoyed the logg fire & funky cocktail bar, we only left at 1:30! A gr8 evening out :-)

Azure Restaurant
We were there a while back with about 12 of us. We ordered a bottle of wine for R105 and the waiter came back to tell us that they did not have it in stock. They said that they could recommend a similar one. We ordered this and being a table of 12 plenty more bottles were consumed. When we received the bill we saw that we had been charged R325 a bottle!!! A big diffrence from R105.
This bottle for R325 can be bought at the wine estate or a bottle store for R65. I do think we should have been told that the wine is similar but there is a huge price difference. When complaining we were told that we should have asked the price before ordering
Needless to say we have never returned.

Pirates Steakhouse and Pub
What a surprise! Totally not what I was expecting! My fiance and I drove past for months, thinking this place was an old dingy pub, but we decided to venture in one day seeing that it is in our neighborhood. We walked into what looks like the inside of a boat and were warmly welcomed by friendly staff. We looked around us, everyone was smiling, glasses were clinking and huge plates of mouth watering food just kept on coming out the kitchen! The atmosphere was amazing! The food was absolutely divine, so good that you feel a bit tipsy and you are beaming from ear to ear. Tender grilled chicken smothered with spinach sauce, ribs falling off the bone, crunchy onion rings, and drafts as tall as the sky?so our experience taught us not to judge a book by its cover, go in, you?ll be pleasantly surprised!

Azure Restaurant
I celebrated my birthday in April by having lunch at the Azure Restaurant. We sat outside and had magnificent views. The service was excellent as was the food. I would highly recommend Azure. Next on my list is dinner and DVD evening.

Butcher Block (Pine Town)
Not impressed. Sent my meal back three times as it was cold. As an anniversary dinner it was a disaster. I ate them I watched my wife eat. The manager was not really interested. In the end we paid and will not be back.

The Roundhouse
The Roundhouse is amazing! We dined last evening with friends from France and they simply blew our socks off. The Frenchies that we hosted could not believe that this was possible outside of France. Service was like nothing we have ever experienced. The best restaurant in the Cape.

La Scala (Monte Casino)
This is definitely our favourite spot in Gauteng. We have eaten here many times and we are always surprised at the cost. superb food at super prices. You have to visit them.

Cattle Baron Steak Ranch (Century City)
We decided to try a 2nd cattle baron cos our 1st experience was great. What a DISAPPOINTMENT. The staff were slow, service was almost non-existent even though there were about 4 tables with people. No-one was sure about the special offers available, the creme brullee made my husband terribly sick. Waiting 30+ mins for a burger made the kids really irritable, and then another 30min wait for the icecream (possibly the cow still had to be milked for this!) was absolutely disgusting. I WON't be going be back.

Bad experience 1.7.2009
Sat & waited for 15 minutes before order was taken. A couple who arrived after us were served first.
Beers ordered by my husband - 2 tasted like vinegar & the 3rd expired April, 2009.
My son order Sirlion 0 Med; my husband Rump Med Rare. They put their sauces (different) on steaks given to them & my son had my husbands steak & visa versa. My husband asked for tomato sauce & we are still waiting.
There was a chip out of my glass, but as the glasses are frosted and I only saw it after I had drunk half a glass. This was the worst experience I have had at your restuarant.

Barock
This Cattle Baron is now known as Barock, but still has the same owners. It is an absolute no, no, for anybody who is in search of culinary delight. They have extended their menu to include pasta, pizza and mexican dishes, but to be honest, these are disgusting. Perhaps their steaks may still 'Spur-like' okay, there are numerous other places in Paarl to enjoy a good steak. And if looking for a taste of Italy in Paarl, rather try PastaVino.

Fat Cactus
I had great party at the Fat Cactus 10 years ago so desided to also have my 40 th there. Best idea I've had all year!
The food is still great, it's actually improved over the years and the jugs of margaritas must have got stonger or bigger. We had the Mexican Feast - delicous and plenty. The chilli poppers are still the best. The waiter was not only gorgous but also helped me to be at work the next mornig...wait, let me explain!
Unlike 10 years ago, I was not up for tequila shooters to match my age and he graciously and bravely waved off all attemps by my friends to do me serious alchoholic harm. Daren, thanks!
A festive spot with great food and great staff...I've never had a bad experience there!
