Date surprise filling
Ingredients
125 ml
icing sugar
125 ml
water
20 ml
cocoa
15 ml
butter
125 ml
finely chopped dates
125 ml
finely chopped nuts
whole nuts for decoration
Method:
1. Combine sugar, water and cocoa in a saucepan.
2. Stir in the butter and dates and simmer until thick, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and cool.
3. Stir in the nuts.
4. Fill tartlets and garnish with a whole nut.
Makes enough to fill 24 tartlets.
