Strawberry slush for adults
Ingredients
300 g
sugar
250 ml
water
300 g
strawberries, washed and hulled
250 ml
vodka
1
lemon (juice only)
Method:
Combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Bring to a rolling boil and remove from the heat when the liquid is clear. Leave syrup to cool.
Purée strawberries. With the motor still running, add the sugar syrup, vodka and lemon juice.
Pour into a metal container and freeze for 3 hours. Remove from the freezer and mash with a fork (or in a blender) until coarsely crushed. Return to the freezer for another 3 hours at least.
Mash or blend again and serve immediately. The alcohol will prevent the mixture from freezing into a solid mass.
