Ingredients
600 g cake flour
10 ml salt
10 ml sugar
25 g digestive bran
10 g instant yeast
300 ml tepid milk
500 ml tepid water
40 g butter
2 large onions, chopped
150 g Cheddar cheese
1 egg yolk
water

Method:
1. Warm flour and salt in microwave for 1 minute on high. Add sugar, bran and yeast. 2. Add milk and water gradually, until a soft dough is formed. Knead for 2 minutes. Allow to rise until double in size. 3. Heat butter and fry onions. Drain well. Combine cheese with onions. 4. Work three quarters of the cheese mixture into the dough. Divide dough in half. Plait each half. 5. Place on greased baking pans. Allow to rise. 6. Mix the egg yolk with a little water and brush over the loaves. Preheat oven to 200 °C and bake for about 25 minutes. 7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with remaining cheese mixture. 8. Return to the oven and bake until hollow when tapped, about 10 minutes.
