At the Good Life Fine Brandy Festival connoisseurs and keen novices can experience the unique tastes, characters and styles of brandies represented by 35 exhibitors, ranging from major distillers to small, select, single-estate brandy makers. Brandies – from blended to vintage to potstill made in the cognac style, from Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Paarl and Wellington to those on the famed Route 62 and the rocky outcrops of the Klein Karoo, will be represented.

The event with its stylish Salon Privé taps in on the trend towards luxury and indulgence. Learning the art of mixing brandy cocktails is one way to get brandy lovers even more appreciative of blended brandies. Using these brandies as their inspiration, LiquidChefs, leaders of the local cocktail revolution, will be mixing signature cocktails for exhibitors of blended brandies.

At the festival restaurant a new world of flavour combinations emerges, as the Sandton Sun takes on the festive challenge to play with the palette. The many layers of brandy aromas, from floral and fruity to the warm, deep shades of vanilla, chocolate, cedar and mocha are captured in inspired food offerings.

Of hoops and barrels: This event puts a renewed spot light on the cooper's craft, with coopers in action assembling their barrels, and finishing it off with their rhythmic signature tunes.
