Question:
essene bread
What exactly is the difference between Essene bread and Ezekiel bread? There's information about it, but I can only find recipes for Essene bread, and I would like to know if there are any local retailers in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area that sell Essene bread. I can find Ezekiel bread at local health food stores, but wanted to try Essene bread. Thanks for your time and attention to this question.

Answer:
Janet Steer says:
Both Essene bread and Ezekiel bread are made from freshly sprouted grains. Whereas Essene bread is the essence of simplicity and contains only sprouted grains and pure water (and is not leavened), commercially available Ezekiel bread contains a wider range of ingredients and often includes yeast as a leavening agent. The sprouted grains are also sometimes ground into flour prior to baking.

This is not the case with Essene bread. Ezekiel bread is inspired by The Holy Bible verse Ezekiel 4:9, "Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentils, and millet, and fitches, and put them in one vessel, and make thee bread thereof?? Unfortunately, I cannot comment on retailers in the Texas area. I suggest that you try and make your own Essene bread. Have a look on the internet for recipes or speak to a raw foodist.
