Press release.

Thanks to Devil’s Peak Brewing Company’s passionate quest to produce real, flavoursome, quality beer, South Africans can say goodbye to their one-dimensional relationship with the country’s favourite tipple. At the forefront of the South African craft-beer revolution, this company aims to educate and inspire our country’s beer drinkers.

A pioneer in South Africa’s craft beer industry, Devil’s Peak Brewing Company has launched its highly anticipated craft lager, a flavoursome, high-quality version of the age-old traditional German beer. Available on tap in leading venues around the country, Devil’s Peak Lager makes a refreshing alternative to the sometimes heavy, complex ales typically associated with craft beer brewers both locally and abroad.

Light in body, low in bitterness, pale yellow in colour and brilliantly clear, with a medium to high carbonation, Devil’s Peak Lager has a clean, crisp malt nose, enhanced by the mild, spicy and slightly floral aroma often associated with the famous Hallertauer Mittelfrüh hops used in Bavarian-style lager beers.

Devil’s Peak Brewing Company’s first taste revolution was its Founder’s series including; First Light Golden Ale, King’s Blockhouse IPA (India Pale Ale), Woodhead Amber Ale and Silvertree Saison. These form the cornerstone of the brewery’s offerings.

The Explorer Series, which includes English Ale, American Pale Ale, Black IPA and Imperial IPA, expands on what customers have come to expect from the brewery– consistency, quality and innovation while maintaining the pioneering spirit of beer style exploration.

Devil’s Peak Lager has a unique character resulting from high-quality imported ingredients (including 100% malt and a German hops variety) cold-fermented and lagered (stored) for up to three weeks at 0 degrees Celsius.

Devil’s Peak Lager will be available in 340ml bottles from mid-August through leading retail outlets nationally.
