Dinner on 26th October - 4 people , no starters no dessert - Cost = R 1600. ( R 400 pp) Service - s l o w - Got wine at the end of main course - had to ask three times for a refil. Food - orders got placed infornt of the wrong people. Mangers- ( lots of) wandering around gazing at the ceiling. Experience - having to keep getting up / sorting out the placings and trying to get a refil for a very expensive glass of wine a lot to pay at the end of the day when all you want to do is wind down and relax. It would have been a more enjoyable experience if I served the table myself.

I always thought that Beltahzar was a steakhouse, but if you want the best prawns and fish in Cape Town then this is the place. The display outside the restaurant is eye-catching and made up our minds. We had a variety of Kings and tiger medium served with lemon butter and peri-peri sauce. We also had rice and fries. The prawns were tasty and crunchy. Wow! This place is a secret find.

We had a grt meal at belthazar last night and it was really busy considering it was Wednesday. We had the rib eye special for R99 which includes as much fries as u can eat as well a sauce and a side salad. It was brilliant value for money and the best steak we have eaten for a while!! They also have a value winelist with wines from R49. A grt evening was had!!

Arrived at Belthazar's on Saturday evening dressed up and excited to eat at this highly recommended establishment to be turned away from a half-empty restaurant by a very condescending and snotty waiter who stated that they can unfortunately not seat us and we would be best suited to look for a more 'family orientated establishment'. Not sure if this was because we had a sleeping baby with us or whether it was because our attire was not designer label enough for them or simply because we were a bit too South African for this pretentious establishment. Googled the restaurant and nowhere do they indicate any rules in this regard. It is definitely not the only restaurant serving good food in Cape Town - it is rather ridiculous to turn away customers based on their appearance. Having been subject to this treatment I am very glad (although a little embarrassed) that I was not seen supporting this pretentious and petty behaviour.

Ate there with Canadian friend. Food (kudu steak) was okay but not great. They serve 2007 wine when you order a 2005 and apply the same price - wine list totally out of date considering the stock they hold. Not a great experience.

Sinn's Restaurant "There is something so simply indulgent about Risotto. Yes, health nuts would slate it for it's cheesy, creamy ladenness, but personally, that's all the more reason to revere it (and then pop off to the gym the next day). The Rocket Risotto and Silver Fish I had last night at Sinns, was incredible! The texture of the firm, crisp-skinned fish, paired with the dreamy sanctity of the Risotto, punctuated with beetroot chips and served out in the airy sophistication of Wembly Square- Bellissimo! ..."

Olympia Cafe and Deli
Always great food, but unfortunately your enjoyment is pretty much determined by which waiter you get...
