I LURVEEEEEEEEEEEE Trabella's pizzas and they have a few phenomenal pasta options too, BUT though their salads are fresh I do find them incredibly boring, iceberg lettuce (which may or may not be making a come back) and other tasteless salad perpetrators. If you compare the salad options to the pizza topping options you would think you are eating in 2 different restaurants.

I agree with whole-heartedly with Chris! Trabella is awesome! the best pizza in JHB and the vibe is great. Bryan - I think the frozen Pizza's at Makro are also cheaper than those at Trabella! So if you really want, you can save a fortune! I am also sure that cheap franchised pseudo Italian restaurants have rules about kissing. I am incredibly amused by your contention that heterosexuals don't kiss during working hours. That's fantastic pal - you just keep pretending and we won't say anything to upset your delicate sensibilities. Live a little bud - spend some bucks on water and watch lesbian action - it's the 21st century!

Dear Bryan. Firstly, Trabella is a fantastic restaurant which boasts an exclusive menu and its prices are average by JHB standards. If you want to save money your'e going to have to sacrifice ambience and quality. You may as well go and eat at one of the many inexpensive and mediocre pseudo italian restaurants in one of our soulless shopping malls - I am not sure that Makro does Italian cuisine. Secondly, who cares if there are girls kissing in the restaurant. This is part of the cosmopolitan vibe at Trabella. Once again, if you wish only to experience dull surroundings you can go to any of the above-mentioned pseudo Italian restaurants, where you will get to see happy heterosexual family gatherings. Finally, how on earth can you speculate the demise of the establishment on the basis that it is actually expanding. This is at very best counter-intuitive Bryan. For the record- I am in no way linked to Trabella or its staff in any way. I am a long standing patron.

One of my previous Jhb favourites has, I think begun the slippery slide to the bottom of the pond! We took friends there last night and while the food is still excellent the prices are no longer justified. That old Jhb greed has set in I fear. The first sign that a restaurant is about to tank is when they expand into the shop next door (surely we can double our profits?) then you get ripped off on the drinks bill (R17 for a small bottle of Nestle sparkling water that cost R2 from Makro) - the bill is incorrect when it comes (in our favour as it was) - then comes back incorrect again (once more in our favour) so we pay and leave, but not before the owner has been publicly sucking face with her girlfriend for long minutes in the centre of the restaurant . (I ask myself if I'm being a prude - after all, it is her restaurant - but then I think 'How many straight couples do you see graunching each other during working hours?') Still a good place, but not for long I think!

The best pizzas ever, best base, best toppings. The gorgonzola foccacia is simply the best. Pastas are also really superb with very alternative combinations. Great service and intimate atmosphere. Highly, highly, highly recommended.

The pizzas are pure perfection! The base is the best I have ever tasted and the toppings are to die for. Oh and the salads are amazing with only the finest fresh ingredients!

Sinn's Restaurant "There is something so simply indulgent about Risotto. Yes, health nuts would slate it for it's cheesy, creamy ladenness, but personally, that's all the more reason to revere it (and then pop off to the gym the next day). The Rocket Risotto and Silver Fish I had last night at Sinns, was incredible! The texture of the firm, crisp-skinned fish, paired with the dreamy sanctity of the Risotto, punctuated with beetroot chips and served out in the airy sophistication of Wembly Square- Bellissimo! ..."

Always great food, but unfortunately your enjoyment is pretty much determined by which waiter you get...
