I had great party at the Fat Cactus 10 years ago so desided to also have my 40 th there. Best idea I've had all year! The food is still great, it's actually improved over the years and the jugs of margaritas must have got stonger or bigger. We had the Mexican Feast - delicous and plenty. The chilli poppers are still the best. The waiter was not only gorgous but also helped me to be at work the next mornig...wait, let me explain! Unlike 10 years ago, I was not up for tequila shooters to match my age and he graciously and bravely waved off all attemps by my friends to do me serious alchoholic harm. Daren, thanks! A festive spot with great food and great staff...I've never had a bad experience there!

That's bizarre! We go to The Cactus regularly and the kitchen only closes at 11pm... food fantastic, vibe awesome and service is great!

Hi Gman. We didn't know the kitchen closing time in advance, just took a chance dropping in after the cricket. But were surprised at a 10pm closing on a Friday night, especially for a joint that rocks into the early hours. I wouldn't have minded if they had politely turned us away - my argument is that after telling us we COULD be served, the waitress shouldn't have then pouted and grumbled her way through service. BTW this was Cactus in Mowbray not Gardens; we love the place and have been long-time supporters, so were surprised and disappointed by the very mediocre service this time round.

Pippa, I would also be a little put off if you arrived five minutes before closing time. You knew the kitchen closing time but arrived five minutes prior! Why?

Three stars for the food, which is as delicious as ever - absolutely stunning burgers and very reasonably priced. But what a lousy waitress! Grumpy, inattentive and made use feel quite unwelcome because we arrived 5 minutes before the kitchen was due to close. She lets the place down - we have going there for as long as it has been open and have always loved the funky, free-spirited, happy people who worked there.

Sinn's Restaurant "There is something so simply indulgent about Risotto. Yes, health nuts would slate it for it's cheesy, creamy ladenness, but personally, that's all the more reason to revere it (and then pop off to the gym the next day). The Rocket Risotto and Silver Fish I had last night at Sinns, was incredible! The texture of the firm, crisp-skinned fish, paired with the dreamy sanctity of the Risotto, punctuated with beetroot chips and served out in the airy sophistication of Wembly Square- Bellissimo! ..."

Always great food, but unfortunately your enjoyment is pretty much determined by which waiter you get...
